Global Mediacom was established on June 30^th, 1981 under the name PT Bimantara Citra and commenced its operations in the trading business. The Company expanded into industrial businesses, with the emphasis on capital sharing in several range of businesses, which include mass media and broadcasting, Telecommunications, infrastructure, transportation and automotive, chemical industry, hotel and properties, as well as financial and investment.

In 1995, PT Bimantara Citra conducted its Initial Public Offering and listed its shares in the Jakarta Stock Exchange and Surabaya Stock Exchange.

In 2007, PT Bimantara Citra Tbk had changed its name into PT Global Mediacom Tbk, focusing on media as its main focus of business, currently concentrates its businesses in :

1.        Content and advertising based media through PT Media Nusantara Citra Tbk (MNC).

2.        Subscriber based media through PT MNC Sky Vision (Indovision).

3.        Media support and infrastructure through PT Infokom Elektrindo..
